Start Waves Max Audio Pro, and in the playback pane, advanced section, check the box, then exit. If it did, change the driver for the realtek audio to use the 8216 instead. Maybe it will help some of you out there. I've spent a few hours looking for solution (and A LOT of people have issues with these audio drivers and Maxx Audio Pro) and here is what i did to solve the issue. Being used to it, i did the usual thing (remove the drivers, let windows reinstall its own, reboot, and everything works again). I rebooted a few days ago and found my sound distorded, muffled with too much bass when the headset is plugged in.
This issue returned lately as there were a few Windows updates + Dell Command updates.
